We started our day by walking to lunch at a French restaurant, Bistrot Zinc.
We tried the onion soup, which was a new flavor to me. Combined with wine it was a perfect start to our vacation.
And Helen got a picture with Bob Newhart!
And then some real deep dish pizza at Pizzeria Due.
After our trip to the Original Pancake House I had to see Soldier Field. Helen did not appreciate the value of this or recognize my sacrifice in not insisting on also viewing Wrigley Field. Parking was impossible, we tried sneaking into the lot right next to the field and we were told to leave before we could even exit the car. We found a side street that accesses some of the parking lots of a nearby park and harbor, where Helen could stay in the car while I took a picture of myself.
We then drove to see the Museum of Science And Industry. Helen and I chose to see this because of Yelp reviews. We were also considering seeing the Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium. We did not take into consideration how kid friendly the Museum of Science And Industry was and that it was Winter break. Given this fact and that the coal mine and the tour of U-505 was sold out I think we would have chosen one of the other options. That being said we really enjoyed the human body experience and seeing the German U-Boat from the outside.
